Featherless Faith

Since the recent reveal that the princess of the nights guards are bat ponies I have been fascinated with the idea of Luna having bat wings herself .

I am tempted to go against the norm and draw her with these types of wings from now on makes a nice physically change to her design.

This started out as a simple tablet sketch and like most sketches I do I grew attached to it then placed in an interior background and kept going from there.

Because I do so many pony pieces that end up complimenting the characters colour scheme .I experimented with clashing colours in this sketch making Lunas body stand out and give the piece an eerie feel i also drew it from a sight angle. This scene is supposed to be inside Canterlot castle yet the scheme I choose makes the environment feel almost nightmarish its impressive what colours can do to your work.
